“We had a wonderful trip to Shimba Hills with John as our guide, it was a truly special experience. Although it rained heavily at times, that actually made the tour even more memorable. The hike to Sheldrick Falls was an absolute highlight despite (or even because of) the rain. Walking through the jungle, surrounded by the sound of rain and nature, was a refreshing and one of a kind experience. Once we reached the waterfall, the view was simply breathtaking. “Ich wurde zwar mit nur 10 Minuten Verspätung abgeholt, doch dann mussten wir erst tanken fahren. Anstatt um 8 Uhr kamen wir um 10 Uhr am Nationalpark an. Ich hatte dann 4 Stunden um etwas zu wandern, allerdings nur einen ausgebauten Weg hoch. Ein Tipp: sich zum old Moses Camp fahren lassen und dort starten. Allerdings ist man da auch schon auf 3300m Höhe. Um 14 Uhr ging es dann in der 5 ständigen Fahrt zurück nach Nairobi. Es gab weder das Lunchpaket noch Wasser. 10 Stunden Fahrt für 4 Stunden Mount Kenya lohnt sich nicht, besser 2 Tage einplanen.”

“Het was een fantastische dag, vol mooie en unieke ervaringen. De taxi-chauffeur kwam ons ophalen, helaas was dit met een gewone 6-persoonsauto, wat de safari moeilijk maakte. Het was niet de ideale auto voor de safari en er waren niet zoveel dieren (enkel antilopen en zebra’s). Daarna volgde de wandeling naar de waterval samen met enkele rangers, deze wandeling was zeer leuk. We bleven 30min bij de waterval om een frisse duik te nemen, het was super leuk! Daarna gingen we door naar de lodges waar we konden genieten van een lunch en het fantastische uitzicht! We konden helaas maar 1uurtjes zwemmen voor we door moesten naar huis, dit mocht…”
